Nicola Valley Hospital emergency department temporarily closed again

MERRITT – After being re-opened for the morning, the Nicola Valley Hospital emergency department will be closed this afternoon (December 20).

Interior Health said the department will be closed from 11:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m..

The four four and a half hour closure is due to limited physician availability.

During this time, Interior Health said patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops and those who need life-threatening emergency care should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

All other inpatient services will continue to be available.
