Nicola Valley Hospital fully opened after brief closure

MERRITT – Services are fully open at the Nicola Valley Hospital after a brief closure of the emergency department.

As of 1:00 a.m. this morning (December 20), the emergency department is back open.

Originally, Interior Health stated the department would be closed from December 19, 4:00 p.m. – December 21, 8:00 a.m. before changing course and announcing the earlier opening.

The nine hour closure was due to staffing shortages.
