Nicola Valley Emergency Department Closed Again

For the second straight evening, the Emergency department at the Nicola Valley Hospital will be closed immediately.
Interior Health issued the closure just before 5:00 p.m. on Saturday saying that the Emergency Room would be closed from 6:00 p.m. Saturday Sept. 26, until 7:00 a.m. on Sunday Sept. 27.
This comes after an eleven hour closure overnight Friday Sept. 25, until 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning.
Saturday night’s closure mark’s the 13th closure in 2026.
Patients can access emergency care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during this time.
All other inpatient services will continue at Nicola Valley Hospital.
People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
