Evacuation Alert Downgraded to All Clear – Ainslie Creek Wildfire

It’s news everyone has been waiting for weeks to hear.

An Evacuation Alert issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) due to the Ainslie Creek Wildfire has been downgraded to All Clear.

Approximately 248 addressed properties have been downgraded from Evacuation Alert to All Clear through this notice, located in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country), “M” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-North), and “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-South). Areas downgraded to All Clear are as follows:

The Ainslie Creek Wildfire grew to more than 67,700 hectares. before the B.C Wildfire Service (BCWS) declared the fire as “BEING HELD”.

The BCWS reports that 123 wildfires are active in the province, and cautions that recent precipitation is helping to suppress wildfire activity, but it will take significant moisture to return fuels to more reasonable conditions.

Residents are reminded to be vigilant when on camp grounds and on the trails during the coming months.
