New wildfire sparks outside of Logan Lake

UPDATE (5:15 p.m.): Speaking to CFJC Today at 5:00 p.m., BC Wildfire Service Fire Information Officer Cali Nessman said about 24 firefighters have been sent to this wildfire scene.
They are joined by air tankers, skimmers and helicopters battling the blaze from the air.
Logan Lake volunteer firefighters are also assisting.
Nessman says as of Wednesday afternoon, no structures are being immediately threatened.
EARLIER: A new fire has sparked outside Logan Lake Wednesday afternoon (July 29) and is spreading quickly.
The fire, located off Highway 97D just west of the townsite near Guichon Creek, is already estimated at 10 hectares, according to the BC Wildfire Service.
Video taken from Logan Lake shows the fire burning intensely in a forested area and throwing off a large column of smoke.
The District of Logan Lake made a brief post to its website, stating it is aware of the fire and will keep its residents informed when updates are available.
