TNRD Emergency Operations Centre Update – July 21, 2026

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) Emergency Operations Centre continues to have Evacuation Alerts and Evacuation Orders in place due to four fires within the TNRD, including the Fiftynine Creek wildfire, the French Bar Creek wildfire, the Pear Lake wildfire and the Ainsley Creek wildfire.

Fiftynine Creek Wildfire: Approximately 131 addressed properties remain on Evacuation Order due to this wildfire, and approximately 63 addressed properties remain on Evacuation Alert. The Evacuation Order area primarily affects Big Bar Lake and Meadow Lake. It is unsafe to be in the Evacuation Order area, and no access is currently permitted. Security checkpoints are in place to prevent people from entering evacuated areas, to protect their safety and the safety of responders.

Pear Lake Wildfire: Three addressed properties were placed on Evacuation Order on July 20, 2026 at 4:30 pm due to this fire, including the Downing Provincial Park campground and day use area. Approximately 38 addressed properties remain on Evacuation Alert due to this fire, which are located on Pavilion-Clinton Road and Jesmond Road, west of Clinton towards Kelly Lake. The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has an Evacuation Order in place due to the Pear Lake wildfire.

French Bar Creek Wildfire: This fire is burning in an area that is mostly remote, isolated Crown land west of the Fraser River and north of the Big Bar Ferry. There are approximately 2 addressed properties and 1 unaddressed property on Evacuation Order. Additionally, a large area with no known addressed is on Evacuation Alert due to this fire.

Ainslie Creek Wildfire: An Evacuation Alert issued on July 8, 2026 remains in place for approximately 61 addressed properties due to the Ainslie Creek Wildfire, affecting Petit Creek Road and Prospect Creek FSR.

The TNRD is in the process of planning an online Public Information Meeting on July 23, 2026, in coordination with the BC Wildfire Service and other relevant agencies. More information will be provided in advance with specific details, as well as a Zoom link to attend this meeting.
