Movie filming to hit Merritt streets this week

Merritt residents may notice some commotion along Quilchena Avenue this week, but there is no cause for alarm as a film crew is shooting a movie in the area.
Starting Tuesday (June 30) from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the film crew will be recording scenes of stunt actors performing a confrontation scene with simulated gunfire towards a vehicle.
“During this time, you may hear intermittent loud “popping” sounds,” the city cautioned.
On Canada Day Wednesday (July 1), the crew will shoot scenes with the actors performing a simulated gunfight inside a building between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The crew will also be filming more simulated gunfire scenes on Thursday (July 2) between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
“During this time, you may hear intermittent loud “popping” sounds as it may echo against the structure,” the city added.
The film crew will be back in action on Friday (July 3) to shoot a vehicle driving by the building at 2399 Quilchena Avenue from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.. They’ll also be shotting a scene involving stunt actors performing a simulated crash scene between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon.
