BREAKING: Evacuation Alert Downgraded to All Clear at North End of Stump Lake – Kullagh Creek Wildfire

The evacuation alert issued by the TNRD due to the Cool-ig Creek Wildfire has been downgraded to All clear.

The BC Wildfire service says the 149 hectacre wildfire which began on Tuesday near Stump Lake was classified as under control on Wednesday afternoon.

The wildfire is suspected to be human-caused, either by accident or with intention.

The TNRD had issued an evacuation alert for 31 properties in the area.

According to the wildfire service’s dashboard this afternoon, there are 16 wildfires burning in the province today with three active wildfires within the Kamloops Fire Centre. Of them, two are under control, while a 57-hectare wildfire burning nearly 30 kilometres northwest of Princeton is classified as out of control.

The fire danger rating for the Kamloops Fire Centre is mostly moderate today, with a higher danger rating further west in the Cache Creek, Lillooet and Lytton area.
