A man accused of killing his wife in Merritt last year is in court looking to have his bail status reviewed.
Christopher Jarvis is charged with a single count of second-degree murder in the December 16, 2025 death of 45-year-old Pamela Jarvis.
On Friday (May 29), Christopher Jarvis’ case came before BC Supreme Court Justice Karen Douglas for bail review. The case was due back in court Monday afternoon to set a date for the hearing to be continued.
Jarvis is also due in a Merritt courtroom Tuesday to elect whether he wishes for a jury trial or for evidence to be heard before a judge alone.
In addition to the criminal case, B.C.’s police watchdog is looking into whether police action or inaction played any part in Pamela Jarvis’ death. Merritt RCMP investigated alleged intimate partner violence in the relationship in the days prior to the killing.
