Merritt RCMP Investigate Early Morning Vehicle Fire

The Merritt Detachment of the R.C.M.P. are asking for the public’s help in connection with a vehicle fire in the city that police deem suspicious.
Early Sunday (April 19) morning at approximately 2:30 a.m., Merritt front‑line officers responded alongside the Merritt Fire Department to a report of a vehicle fire in the 1600 block of Wilson Street.
The fire destroyed one vehicle, caused damage to a second vehicle and a neighbouring property.
The fire is believed to be suspicious in nature, and police are continuing their investigation.
Staff Sgt. Josh Roda of the Merritt R.C.M.P is asking anyone who may have information, or who has dash‑cam or security video capturing activity around Wilson Street between 2:00 a.m. and 3:00 a.m., is asked to contact the Merritt R.C.M.P. at 250‑378‑4262.
