Tumbleweed Playschool Society struggling with financial hardships
MERRITT— The Tumbleweed Playschool Society is a small, non-profit preschool with the purpose of nurturing children in the community of Merritt.
Tumbleweed Playschool has been running for over 40 years, serving hundreds of families of Merritt and enriching the lives of three- and four-year-olds.
Students gain fundamental socialization and educational skills that benefit their future, helping them successfully adjust to elementary school.
The society’s simple desire is to keep the preschool open and running.
Due to various factors, Tumbleweed has faced heavy economic setbacks this year.
Despite continuous efforts to fundraise and apply for grants the school finds themselves in a time of financial hardship.
“As volunteer parents and board members, we are determined to keep our local preschool open and running for current and future children and families of Merritt, which we believe is a community necessity.”
“We want to emphasize that we are not going to close and will do whatever it takes to make up for our losses. Our children love their school and that is what keeps us passionate and motivated.”
The Tumbleweed Playschool Society is looking for any sponsorships or support they can get in Merritt at this time (April 30th, 2024.)
They would also like to officially invite Merrittonians to their first annual softball tournament fundraiser taking place at Central Park on the weekend of May 4-5th (2024.)
There will be a concession, a home run derby for adults and kids, bat raffle, prizes and more.
