Suspect arrested after vehicle stolen in Logan Lake area

LOGAN LAKE — On February 10th around 1:30 p.m RCMP responded to a call about a stolen Volkswagen Jetta around a gas station on Chartrand Avenue in Logan Lake.
Employees from the gas station told police they saw the vehicle travel towards Merritt or Ashcroft.
Logan Lake officers and BC Highway Patrol immediately patrolled for the vehicle after the incident.
Around 1:45 p.m, police found the stolen vehicle traveling towards Spences Bridge on Highway 8.
Given the fact that the suspect was excessively speeding and driving erratically officers did not pursue the vehicle for public safety concerns.
Officers deployed a spike belt near Highway 8 and Highway 1 and succesfuly forced the vehicle to come to a stop.
The RCMP were able to arrest the driver safely.
Charges of theft of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and dangerous operation of conveyance were approved against the accused.
The accused being 44 year old Christopher Loosley-Millman.
