Port Moody donates surplus rescue truck to Lytton Fire & Rescue
LYTTON — According to a Lytton news release the town has bolstered their fire and rescue department thanks to a generous donation.
After six months of discussion Lytton Fire & Rescue announced that the City of Port Moody has confirmed the donation of a surplus rescue truck to Lytton Fire Rescue.
The truck will be delivered sometime this spring (2024.)
For the last few years, not having a dedicated rescue truck to service their large road rescue boundary has meant that Lytton Fire & Rescue has had to use their second engine with limited tool space.
This has also meant that they have taken an engine out of service for the community while responding to long rescue calls.
The new rescue truck will be used to respond to all medical aid, road rescue (motor vehicle incidents), and general calls.
The truck has room to store a full amount of rescue and fire equipment.
The donation will greatly increase Lytton Fire & Rescue’s response capacity for the community and will serve Lytton for years to come.
