Merrittonians Invited to NV Quilters’ Guild Art Show

MERRITT — Come one come all Merritonnians to the Nicola Valley Quilters Guild Art Show on Friday January 26th, 1-4 p.m

Locals are invited to a special Meet and Greet, with live quilting demos at the Nicola Valley Arts Centre.

This art show is a beautiful collection of quilts and accoutrement from the members of this active, talented, and community-minded group.

The quilts on display are from the personal collections of the members, new pieces for sale, and some that will be donated to good causes in the community.

There is a variety of quilts, from classic patterns to original designs, and all bring creativity to the fabrics and stitching used.

There are stories to go along with each quilt on display and several of the members are including those with their submissions.

The beautiful quilts by the Nicola Valley Quilters’ Guild are on display until Feb 25th but the Arts Committe hope everyone has time to pop in and check out the displays.

Locals can chat with quilters, see some of them at work on their creative projects, and enjoy some tea and cookies.

Silke Fligge will be there to host the event while Arts Gallery Curator Jano Haywarth will be visiting family in Tasmania.
