MERRITT — The City of Merritt is urging Merrittonians to work together to help clear the thick Snowfall that has blanket much of Merritt today (January 17, 2024.)
10-15 cm of Snowfall is forecasted today.
The City is urging locals to please consider helping your elderly or disabled neighbours to clear the snow from their pathways.
The Good Neighbour Bylaw 2238 states for Resedential properties; Every owner or occupier of residential zoned property shall remove snow or ice from sidewalks or pathways abutting the said property within 24 hours of accumulation.
For commerical properties; Every owner or occupier of commercial or industrial zoned property shall remove snow or ice from sidewalk or pathways abutting the said property by 10:00 am and additionally as needed, following the accumulation of snow or ice.
