MERRITT — While Merritt Centennials forward Michael Felsing is heading to the All Star game, fans can still vote in a second player.
Young smooth skating defenseman Kiernan Poulin is hoping to get voted in, fans can head to the BCHL website and vote once per day for four more days.
Poulin says “I’m honoured to get the opportunity but honestly I couldn’t have done it without my teammates.”
Defenseman Poulin is in his rookie season with the Centennials. The man known as “K.P” has 4 goals and 7 assists which is good for 11 points in 22 games, he is committed to play NCAA hockey at U of Mass. He currently sits in 4th place points for rookie defensemen in the BCHL.
Poulin and the Cents head to Penticton Wednesday then will finish off three road games in four nights with a trip to Vancouver Island.
There they will take on the Cowichan Valley Capitals and the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
Poulin has winning attitude and team first mentality, “We came here to win, hopefully we can steal two road games on the Island.”
The Cents did win two straight road games back in Cranbrook, they are 4-3-2-0 on the road since dropping their first two road games of the season. That’s points in 6 of 9 of their last road games, a far cry from two seasons ago when the Centennials did not record a single road win.
