LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — The District of Logan Lake will use a nearly $1 million provincial grant to double the size of the community’s campground.
In a news release, Mayor Robin Smith says the grant from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport totals $992,285.
It will go toward creating an expansion that will add 45 new campsites, a large roundhouse and eight cabins.
Smith says the additions to the campground will also include washrooms and shower facilities, as well as “a recognition and inclusion of local Indigenous culture.”
It’s hoped the expansion of the campground will help the community strengthen its tourism appeal and diversify its economy and add a different spectrum of jobs and opportunities.
