THOMPSON-NICOLA – The upcoming Apple TV+ Series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, starring Kurt Russell and son Wyatt Russell, was filmed at a location between Cache Creek and Walhachin in Blue Sky Country (during production in 2022.)
In Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a battle between Godzilla and the Titans reveals that monsters are real, and the series follows one family’s journey to uncover their buried secret that links them to a mysterious organization known as Monarch.
Episodes 1 and 2 premier on November 17, 2023, and new episodes will be released each Friday until January 12, 2024.
“Viewers should keep a particularly close eye on Episode 3 of this series, where many will recognize some familiar landscapes that embody Hollywood’s desire for filming in our region,” said Terri Hadwin, TNRD Film Commissioner.
“This is the largest production to film in the Thompson-Nicola region since Jurassic World Dominion. Each year, we also know that this area continues to be a landmark for so many different productions. The unique locations and diverse scenery of the Thompson-Nicola region provide unmatched opportunities for filming, and the TNFC looks forward to supporting many more film productions to come.”
