Centennials entertain Merritt in the Icebreaker GALA and Zombie Walk
MERRITT — Player’s families were in town and the Centennials represented Merritt well right after arriving home from the Seattle BCHL Showcase.
Friday (Oct 27) the Centennials put on a show for the locals, marching through town in their zombie gear in an attempt to raise funds for the Nicola Valley Food Bank. Despite the event being only a couple hours long, the players were able to get quite a few donations. Tim Kim and Sawyer Prokopetz stood in front of Save On asking locals for donations, even instant noodles or cans, anything that was non-perishable and inexpensive.

Saturday (Oct 28) locals and player’s families got to take part in the icebreaker GALA that included comedy, a live band and catering from the Grand Pub & Grill. Players all introduced themselves and staff members addressed the crowd as people were given a chance to get to know this year’s Centennials. There was also many items for auction and a 50/50 draw.

The Centennials are back in action this Friday when they host the West Kelowna Warriors 7 p.m. at the NVMA. They finish off a three game homestand Saturday against the Penticton Vees, puck drop also slated for 7 p.m.
