MERRITT — New head coach Brian Passmore continued his busy preseason signing an experienced veteran forward in Charles-Thomas Larochelle.
Larochelle played last season with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of the QMJHL, where he collected (4 goals, 9 assists) in 57 games played. The 5’10” 180 lb forward brings speed and offensive instincts to the Centennials.
He played his first season of Junior Hockey with the Melville Millionares (SJHL) scoring 12 goals and 32 points in 51 games.
Larochelle will be given more opportunity with the Centennials than he may have had in the QMJHL, he wants to be an offensive factor on the team and with a little more ice time that sets him up well for a breakout 20 year old season.
He is a responsible player, strong skater and hard to play against. He’ll provide leadership, thinks the game very well and is a dynamic and creative player offensively. The Merritt Centennials begin their preseason September 8th when they’ll host the West Kelowna Warriors back-to-back nights.
