After a brief interruption in services, the TNRD is informing residents that recyclable paper and packaging depot collection has resumed at all solid waste facilities impacted by a temporary service interruption that began on Monday
Several solid waste facilities were impacted by a hauling supply shortage and have now returned to normal operations, including the Lower Nicola Eco Depot
Andrew Roebbelen of the TNRD told Q101 news that with the Lower Nicola Eco Depot being one of the busiest in the region, it was important to get the facility up and running quickly.
“The Lower Nicola Eco Depo is a very busy site, and we move a lot of good quality material through the site,” said Roebbelen. “We run into a bit of a shortage of material (collection bags) from Recycle BC. So we briefly shut down the recyclable collection and by Tuesday morning, we received more supplies and began accepting recyclables again.”
The depot is open today from 8 until 4.
