Cents acquire pair of defensemen
MERRITT – The Merritt Centennials have acquired a new defensive line to complete a trade made at last seasons deadline.
Joining the Centennials, from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks, is Nic Leggett and Lynden Hanvold.
Leggett is a 17-year-0ld Kamloops native who has spent just over one season in the BCHL. In 31 regular season games last season with the Silverbacks, Leggett was able to grab two assists. Making a bigger impact in his teams long playoff run, he had a goal and an assist in 14 playoff games. Throughout his BCHL regular season career, Leggett has played in 33 games, with four assists.
Hanvold has been able to find the score sheet more during his time in the BCHL. The 19-year-old scored two goals and added in five assists for seven points in 41 games last season. Hanvold suited up for seven playoff games but didn’t register a point. In 68 career BCHL games, the Kelowna native has two goals and eight assists for ten points.
Leggett and Hanvold were the future considerations to complete the Tristian Allen trade.
