MERRITT – Due to rain, strong winds, and possible thunderstorms today, a special weather statement has been put in effect throughout most of the province, including the Nicola region.
Environment Canada said rainfall amounts between 15 to 25 mm and wind gusts up to 60 km/h can be expected throughout the day and heading into tomorrow.
“A cold front will sweep across British Columbia today,” wrote Environment Canada in their statement. “Rain and thunderstorms are expected to develop through the day, followed by gusty winds with the passage of the cold front.”
Officials remind residents that when thunder roars, go indoors.
