Two wildfires broke out near Coldwater over the weekend

MERRITT – There were two fires that broke out near Coldwater over the weekend, both of which are considered under control.
According to the BC Wildfire Service, a 10 hectare fire was set on Saturday (April 15) near Kwinshatin Creek. Crews said it was a person caused fire.
The second, smaller fire, was 0.90 hectares in size and officials said it was human caused on Sunday (April 16). The flame was south of Stirling Creek.
Currently there are 11 active fires in the Kamloops Fire Centre, but all of them are classified as under control.
