MERRITT — Mother Nature is targeting the Coquihalla Highway late in the season. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the stretch of highway between Merritt and Hope.
It suggests further snow accumulations of around 25 cm of snow could lead to difficult driving conditions on the high-mountain highway.
Environment Canada says a frontal system will continue moving in from the north causing heavy snow. The snow is set to begin this morning (March 31) and is expected to continue until tomorrow night (April 1).
It says rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations while reducing visibility suddenly at times.
