Merritt RCMP arrest one individual after executing a search warrant

MERRITT – An arrest was made by RCMP after executing a search warrant.

With the assistance of the South East District Emergency Response Team, Merritt RCMP executed the search warrant in the 1900 block of Morrissey Street, leading to the arrest of Kristal Lynn Poirier.

On Friday (March 17) officers said they were alerted to an alleged assault and forcible confinement, which gave them grounds to obtain the search warrant.

The next day (Saturday, March 18), police completed the warrant, leading to multiple people being detained and one female suspect arrested.

Poirier was then charged with assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement. According to RCMP, she is currently awaiting a bail hearing, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 21.
