Merritt hospital emergency department temporarily closed

MERRITT – The emergency department at the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt will be temporarily closed due to a physician vacancy.

In a news release, Interior Health said the department will be unavailable starting 8:00 a.m. on Friday, March 10 and will be reopening 8:00 a.m. Saturday, March 11.

Interior Health suggests residents should call 911 in the event of an emergency. Otherwise, they can call 811 for advice or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna.
