Equipment failure caused power outages just south of Merritt

MERRITT – There were 1688 customers without power just south of Merritt.

According to BC Hydro, equipment failure caused the outages.

It affected residents in Merritt, Kingsvale, Aspen Grove, and Brookmere. Officials listed it as southeast of Highway 8 and northwest of Highway 5A.

BC Hydro restored the power at 10:00 a.m..
