MERRITT — Mother Nature is targeting the Coquihalla Highway again. Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the stretch of highway between Merritt and Hope.
It suggests further snow accumulations between 20-30 cm of snow could lead to difficult driving conditions on the high-mountain highway.
Environment Canada says heavy snow developed overnight over the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt with 24 cm of snowfall. An additional 10 to 15 cm of snow is expected before the snow eases later in the day.
It says rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations while reducing visibility suddenly at times.
