MERRITT – As 3:00 p.m. PT came and went, the Merritt Centennials made two trades at the BCHL trade deadline.
First the Cents traded defenseman Tristan Allen to the Salmon Arm Silverbacks for forward Aidan Lindblad and future considerations.
Throughout 33 games played for the Cents this season, Allen had 24 points (3G,21A).
Coming back to Merritt is 18-year-old Lindblad who has played in 29 games with the Silverbacks, notching 10 points (4G,6A).
The second move of the day involved trading Walker Erickson to the Vernon Vipers for future considerations.
In his second stint with the Cents, Erickson played in 32 games while scoring 20 points (10G,10A).
“These trades help our hockey club for the end of this season and into the future. Aidan is a 2004 forward with good size and a heavy shot who will get a bigger opportunity with us down the last stretch of the season. We look forward to seeing him in our lineup this weekend,” said Head Coach and GM Curtis Toneff.
After these moves were made, the Centennials have added 2005 forward Dylan Emerson to the active roster for the rest of the season.
