Merritt hospital emergency department unavailable Sunday night

MERRITT — The emergency department at the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt will be temporarily closed due to limited nursing availability.

In a news release Saturday evening, Interior Health says the department will be unavailable from 6:30 p.m. Sunday January 8 until 7:00 a.m. Monday January 9.

Interior Health suggests residents should call 911 in the event of an emergency. Otherwise, they can call 811 for advice or visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or Kelowna General Hospital in Kelowna.
