RCMP remind residents no drinking and driving around the holidays

MERRITT – Ahead of the holiday season, with Christmas parties and family get togethers take place, Merritt RCMP is reminding the public about road safety.

“Always have a designated driver and don’t drink and drive,” said Sgt Josh Roda.

Roda said he wants to have everyone be safe while getting too and from Christmas get togethers.

“We don’t want to see any of the members of the public put themselves in a dangerous position or anyone else in a dangerous position in that matter. It’s easy to have a designated driver and get home when you drink.”

It didn’t just stop at drinking and driving from Roda, as he also mentions any other substances.

“Drinking and driving, smoking marijuana, using any other illict drugs. Don’t use drugs and don’t drink and drive.”
