MERRITT – A fire broke out at Mario’s Towing in Merritt early this morning (December 14).
“The call came in around 2:50 a.m., and there was 12 firefighters who responded,” said Merritt Fire Rescue Chief, Dave Tomkinson. “It came in as a recreational vehicle on fire and when on scene, the RV was fully involved and fire was extending to adjacent vehicles. Crews were able to control the fire preventing it from spreading further.”
Tomkinson said this fire is now being deemed as suspicious and the investigation has been turned over to Merritt RCMP.
