RCMP arrest wanted man

MERRITT – Merritt RCMP have arrested a wanted man in the community early this morning (November 23).
According to officers, they were called to the area of Voght Street and Priest Avenue for a report of a suspicious man. Upon attendance, officers said they witnessed a man kick in the back door and rush inside. After a lengthy standoff with police, they said Ronald Karlson exited the house and was safely taken into custody.
“We want to thank the public for all the information they provided during our search for Mr. Karlson.” Says Sgt. Josh Roda. “We are thankful no one was injured and this had a successful conclusion.”
Karlson is now being held in custody and will be brought before the courts today.
Merritt RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance in helping locate Karlson over the past week.
