Merritt RCMP asking for publics help in identifying van and the occupants

MERRITT – Merritt RCMP are looking to identify a van and the occupants who allegedly attempted to lure children at the 7-Eleven.

Last night (October 25) just after 6:00 p.m., officers said the two male occupants allegedly tried to lure two young girls into a white panel van, with a ladder fixed to the roof. According to police, both the girls refused and the van drove out of the parking lot heading east on Nicola Avenue.

“We are asking the public for their assistance to locate and identify the owner of the van.” Says Sgt. Josh Roda. “If you see or recognize the van, please do not approach it and call the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.”

After this incident, RCMP also urge parents to remind their children again about practicing safety when interacting with strangers.
