City of Merritt to test Voyent Alert System

MERRITT – The Voyent Alert System is being put to the test for those who are registered within the City of Merritt.

“Voyent Alert provides immediate notifications, via text, phone or email, of critical and potentially life-threatening incidents, such as when a fire breaks out close to your home that requires evacuation of your current location,” said City officials.

On Thursday, October 20, at 10:30 a.m. those who are subscribed on the system to Merritt will be receiving a test alert.

In order to receive the test, residents would have to be subscribed to ‘Merritt BC’ as the location, and not the ‘Thompson Nicola Regional District’.
