“We have seen huge success over the past six months targeting our the local drug trade and prolific offenders,” said Sgt. Josh Roda, Merritt RCMP. “Overdoses in our community are down, which is largely in part to taking these drugs off the streets and the hard work being put in by our local community partners working with our vulnerable population.”
According to police, over the past six months, the GIS have exacuted six search warrants on residences and dwelling units associated to drugs and violent offences, taking pounds of illegal drugs off the streets and 20 prohibited/restricted/illegally obtained firearms.
Throughout these investigations, officers said numerous charges and arrests have been made against known offenders.
