Nicola Valley Hospital ER closed Sunday to Monday due to staffing shortages

MERRITT – Interior Health has announced the Nicola Valley Hospital’s emergency department will be closed from 8 a.m. Sunday, August 21 to 8 a.m. Monday, August 22.

Officials say the closure is due to limited physician availability.

Interior Health recommends patients to access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, or Kelowna General Hospital during the closure.

Those requiring life-threatening emergency care should always call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest ER.
