Two people dead in separate motorcycle accidents
KAMLOOPS – Two people are dead and others injured in two separate motorcycle crashes that happened Saturday (June 25).
BC Highway Patrol said there was a two-vehicle collision at around 5:35 p.m. where the motorcycle collided with the side of an SUV on Highway 5A near Quilchena Ranch outside of Merritt.
Officers said the man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead on scene, while the female passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Also according to Kamloops RCMP, a motorcycle with two people on it collided with a deer and went off the road at around 9:00 p.m. in the 700-block of Tod Mountain Road, also known as Heffley-Louis Creek Road, near Heffley Creek.
Police said a female rider was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other person was taken to the hospital.
RCMP does not believe speed or impairment to be a factor in either incident.
Both accidents are still under investigation.
