Two men arrested after hand gun shown outside the high school

Two men are in custody after a hand gun was brandished outside of Merritt Secondary School (MSS).

Merritt RCMP said they were called to MSS and the school immediately went into lockdown.

“We recognize how terrifying an incident like this is for all involved, including parents,” says Sgt. Josh Roda. “Please be assured we put our children’s lives above all else and will do everything we can to keep them safe.”

According to police, both suspects were found quickly and are currently being held in custody.

Nobody was injured during the incident and it is now under investigation.
