Merritt man pleads guilty in relation to an incident in 2021

MERRITT – One man has pleaded guilty to an incident that occurred in 2021.
According to Merritt RCMP, Jamie Koivisto pleaded guilty on May 31 to multiple offenses, including using a stolen credit card, theft under and obstructing a police officer.
“Between August 17, 2021 and March 29, 2022, Mr. Koivisto failed to attend Court 5 times, causing police to have to locate and arrest him on 5 different occasions after his initial arrest,” said Sgt. Josh Roda.
Roda went on to add that Koivisto was not charged for any of the occasions he failed to attend Court.
RCMP said he received 45 days in jail credited and an additional 30 days in jail, along with a one year probation.
