RCMP Warn Motorists Of Road Fatigue

The Merritt RCMP again reminding motorists to plan their road trips wisely and make sure your plans include proper rest.

On Friday May 6, Merritt RCMP Front Line Officers attended a single vehicle collision on the Coquihalla Highway where the driver had fallen asleep and gone off road, rolling their vehicle multiple times. Fortunately the driver only suffered minor injuries and was transported to Nicola Valley Hospital as a precaution. Inside the vehicle officers located a brave little kitten and transported her back to Merritt.

” We want to remind the public that when travelling on our highways to have a plan and make sure you are well rested before driving”.says Cst. Rainier Penner.

The following day, an officer came into work on her day off, took the kitten to a local vet and had her assessed with only minor bruising. The kitten was then reunited with her owner.
