Merritt Resiliency Centre supports going virtual over holidays
The Merritt Civic Centre was turned into a Resiliency Centre as residents were slowly allowed to return to town.
The Resiliency Centre coordinates with a variety of organizations and non-governmental agencies (NGOs) to provide resources for residents, such as Red Cross, Disaster Psychosocial Services, Disaster Financial Assistance, Insurance Bureau of Canada, ICBC, First Nations Health Authority, and Interior Health.
“Since the Resiliency Center opened its doors it has assisted approximately 2,500 residents in need. We wanted to express our sincere gratitude to the staff that have assisted in the operation and management of the Resiliency Center,” reads a press release from City Hall.
With the holiday season fast approaching, the Centre will be closed, but residents can still receive support through the phone.
The Resiliency Centre will be closed on December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1.
