Coldwater River flows through the City of Merritt surged Wednesday night with the third atmospheric river system hitting the watershed.
Similar to Sunday’s system, flows peaked at around 124 m^3/s expect for one blip on the graph to 152 m^3/s at 10:20 pm. Since the spike, levels have begun to lower, with flows registered at 77.9 m^3/s earlier this morning.
The Brookmere gauge has also leveled off this morning at approximately 92 m^3/s. The Brookmere gauge usually gives an 8-hour lead time on the Merritt area.
City officials spent the past few days preparing the river for high flows. Weather forecasters are now predicting a calmer end to the week for British Columbia.
