Special weather statement upgraded to snowfall warning – Oct 28/21

Snowfall warning in effect for:

• Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt
• Okanagan Connector – Merritt to Kelowna

Snowfall accumulations: 15 to 20 cm this morning.

Locations: Okanagan Connector – Merritt to Kelowna, Coquihalla Highway – Hope to Merritt.

Time span: snow this morning then heavy rain through tonight.

Remarks: A moist southwesterly flow is giving snow heavy at times this morning to most southern highway passes. The snow is expected to change to rain near noon as snow levels rise. Total snow accumulations of 15 to 20 cm can be expected with the highest amounts near Pennask Summit.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
