Highway 5A closed north of Merritt

KAMLOOPS – A vehicle incident has closed Highway 5A this morning near Merritt. As of 7 am, the Highway is now open to single-lane alternating traffic.

According to DriveBC.com, the incident occurred between the Junction of Highway 97C and Monck Park Road, six kilometres north of Merritt.

Motorists are being advised to detour along the Coquihalla highway.

No other details are available at this point, including an indication of when the road might be reopened.
