As pandemic related measures in schools are slowly eased, enrollment in the local district is rebounding.
“There actually is some substantial differences based of the size of our schools,” stated Superintendent Steve McNiven.
Some of the biggest changes came in the Merritt area.
“The schools of note are probably Diamond Vale Elementary, which was at a low of 129 coming back up to 144. We saw Merritt Central down to 193 back up to 229. Overall we are seeing an increase in enrollment which is to be expected coming out of the pandemic.”
McNiven did mention that the district will be releasing official enrollment numbers next month to the Board.
