The Merritt Centennials have swung their first trade of the season, acquiring a 2002-born defenseman from the Coquitlam Express in exchange for future considerations.
Jackson Murphy-Johnson, 19, is from Burnaby and will be joining his third BCHL team after spending time with Trail and Coquitlam.
The defenseman has yet to register a point this season in three game played. Last year in the pod, he tallied two points (1G, 1A).
It’s unclear if Murphy-Johnson will be in the lineup tonight when the Cent’s play in Chilliwack.
