SD58 plans to relocate CLC and Board Office
School District 58 Nicola-Similkameen has gone through a consultation process on a long range facility plan. Following the review of the public consultation process the Board highlighted a number of changes now in the planning stage.
“The goal is to relocate the Community Learning Centre, consisting of SCIDES, to the Coquihalla Middle School for 2023. The second goal now is to relocate the Merritt Board Office and Maintenance shops to Coquihalla Middle School in 2023,” said Superintendent Steve McNiven.
Based off feedback received, the Board delayed the move from 2022, to the 2023 date.
The new facility plan also includes selling a empty parcel of land in Lower Nicola. The Brookmere Elementary School and Teacherage will also be put up for sale.
In Princeton, the School Board Office will not be sold at this time, however the Riverside Community Centre will be offered for sale to the town of Princeton.
