Household Hazardous Waste Collection This Weekend

Merrittonians will have an opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste materials that have accumulated over the spring and  and summer months.

The annual Thompson-Nicola Regional District Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up will occur this Sunday, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the Merritt Civic Center parking lot.

Andrew Roebbelen of the TNRD told Q101 that like other events in recent years most hazardous materials will be accepted.

We (TNRD) will be accepting any of your household hazardous waste on Sunday, particularly pesticides, pool chemicals, old lab chemicals that you may have around,” said Roebbelen. “Really anything that has that toxic, flammable, corrosive or hazardous label attached.”
